SWISS and bmi agree codeshare partnership

SWISS Airline announced today that it has a signed a codesharing agreement with bmi, SWISS’ sister airline in the Lufthansa Group.
Under the collaboration the airlines will codeshare on all UK to Switzerland flights including the respective flights from London Heathrow, London City, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh to Zurich, Geneva and Basel.
The two carriers already have a strong relationship as they worked together to deliver six new daily services between Heathrow and Geneva in response to high customer demand. The partnership connected Scotland and Northern England to SWISS’ network of 76 destinations around the world.
Gregor Koncilja, SWISS’ UK and Ireland Manager said: “The agreement will contribute to a healthy competition with other carriers and network alliances. This alliance is a response to increasing customer demand and provides significant benefits to passengers in Northern England and Scotland who can now enjoy seamless travel to a whole host of new destinations.”
