3/9/2010 12:25:00 PM
Blackpool is joining the British Tourism Week celebrations throughout this month.
Tourism is a major contributor to the seaside town’s economy, worth an estimated £1 billion and drawing in 14.5 million visits a year. It is celebrating the week, from 15-21 March, with several offers and events occurring in its biggest attractions.
The Sea Life Centre will be holding a pirate week where staff and visitors can get involved in the various activities. Pleasure Beach Resort is offering half price wristbands when booked online and Blackpool Transport are running offers on its buses.
A competition is being held to win an annual Sea Life family pass or the chance to feed the giraffes at Blackpool Zoo. All visitors to the Tourist information Centre on Clifton Street will be given the chance to enter.
